Jessie Hartley
Jessie has been on a long journey of pursuing her passion for mental health after getting ‘psychologist’ as her answer on a career test in 7th grade. Her passion has guided her to a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
She has experience working with individuals and couples with anxiety, OCD, depression, life transitions, young adults, and postpartum. Jessie is driven and passionate about providing care for individuals that help them step into freedom and experience healing. She strives to integrate the client’s faith and beliefs to guide them towards their treatment goals. Jessie approaches each client holistically through evidence based theories such as CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). Through these theories and education, she empowers clients to build their own emotional awareness and coping skills. Jessie believes that the therapeutic relationship is foundational to the counseling process and is passionate to help her client’s meet their goals.
Jessie presented at the VCA Conference (Virginia Counseling Association) on OCD education and treatment. She is passionate about spreading awareness and using psychoeducation within her sessions to guide clients to find freedom from their OCD compulsions.
Originally being from the mountains in Colorado, Jessie enjoys spending time outside hiking and camping with her husband. In her free time she enjoys painting, gardening, traveling, and reading.
