Chris Gill

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Meet Chris, a compassionate and highly skilled Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. With a Clinical Mental Health Degree from Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, PA, he has honed his expertise in helping individuals and couples overcome their challenges.

Prior to his career in counseling, Chris served as a pastor in various locations including South Carolina, New York City, Scotland, and Hungary. This diverse background has provided him with a unique perspective and a deep understanding of different cultures and human experiences.

Chris specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families, with a focus on clients aged 16 and older. While his main clientele falls within this age range, he also sees a limited number of younger clients. His scope of practice encompasses a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, family relationship issues, trauma, adjustment disorders, and marital difficulties.

In his counseling approach, Chris draws upon a rich tapestry of theories and techniques. He primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), which explores the intricate connections between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By integrating CBT with a secondary theory such as person-centered, family systems, or even feminist theories, Chris can tailor a personalized treatment plan that best suits your unique needs.

Beyond his professional commitments, Chris finds joy in exploring different corners of the world alongside his family. Having visited over 72 countries across four continents, he values the enriching experiences gained from meeting new people and immersing himself in diverse cultures. On days when weather permits, you might find him engaging in his favorite outdoor activities, such as disc golf, soccer, or taking a walk with his wife.

Chris is dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey towards improved mental well-being. With his extensive knowledge, empathetic nature, and diverse skill set, he strives to create a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore their inner selves and work towards positive change.
