Brittany Edmondson
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA), Brittany brings a unique blend of experience and passion to her practice, rooted in a journey that began in an elementary school classroom and evolved into a dedication to supporting individuals through their mental health journeys. Transitioning from teaching to counseling, Brittany pursued a passion for empowering individuals on a deeper level. Brittany obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 2015, laying the groundwork for future endeavors.
Building upon this foundation, Brittany obtained a Master's in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from East Carolina University in December 2023. Brittany offers a person-centered approach that is centered on understanding the unique experiences and perspectives of each individual, fostering a safe and supportive environment for exploration and growth. Within this approach she uses Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to connect a client's thoughts, feelings and behaviors. She is passionate about incorporating a spiritual perspective in her work, as she believes that Jesus is the ultimate healer.
In addition to her clinical work, Brittany is committed to professional development and knowledge-sharing within the counseling community. Brittany has had the privilege of presenting at the North Carolina Counseling Association (NCCA) and a teaching conference at East Carolina University, where she has shared insights and best practices in child and family counseling. Outside of her professional endeavors, Brittany is a devoted parent to two children and cherishes the quality time spent with her family. For self-care, she reads the bible, takes photography and immerses herself in the beauty of the outdoors.
